Who we are and how we work
Habilytics is an independent set of decision tools for home appliances. This page explains who is behind it, how the method works, and how the project pays for itself.
Why Habilytics exists
Searching for "best dehumidifier" or "best robot vacuum" returns pages that all look the same: affiliate lists with no stated criteria, rankings that change with the commission rate, comparisons written for search engines rather than for the person deciding.
Most of that content never asks the questions that decide the answer. How big is the room. How damp it actually gets. Whether you have carpet, pets, a 110V outlet, or a budget.
That is what we build for: tools that start from your answers and end at a specific model — explained, checkable, and scored on measurable criteria instead of commercial arrangements.
Who is behind Habilytics
Habilytics is an independent project with one goal: building choice tools grounded in public, checkable data — not sponsorships or comfortable rankings.
Every category starts with a systematic sweep of the US market: published manufacturer and retailer specs collected model by model. We do not test products in a lab and we hold no aggregated review data — the scores normalize declared specs, nothing more. No manufacturer is contacted during that process — the catalog is built entirely from public data.
The result is not an opinion. It is a system that crosses your specific needs with measurable criteria: capacity, noise, efficiency, coverage, value for money. Every category we add follows the same methodology and the same disclosure.
Habilytics earns a commission if you buy through our store links. That never influences the selection: the engine has no idea which product earns a commission.
How the method works
Every Habilytics tool follows the same three steps, whatever the product category.
You describe your situation
Room, habits, budget, priorities. A handful of targeted questions — no account, email always optional.
A deterministic engine scores every model
Not a language model inventing answers: a deterministic engine crosses your answers with the published specs of every product in the catalog. Each model earns a score on measurable criteria — capacity, noise, efficiency, coverage, value.
The result is transparent
One main recommendation with a plain-English explanation, plus alternatives with the trade-offs called out. You can see, and check, why that model came first.
What "independent" means
Independent is not a slogan here. It means three specific things:
Products enter the catalog because they are actually sold in the US and relevant to the category. It is refreshed so that every meaningful new model gets in.
The specs behind the scores are the ones manufacturers publish. Where a formula exists (noise in dB, liters per kWh) the score is computed from that figure; where none does, it is our editorial judgement and we label it as such.
How Habilytics is funded
Habilytics earns a commission when you buy through a store link on the site. It is an affiliate model — like a lot of comparison sites, with one important difference.
The selection engine has no idea whether a product earns a commission. The recommendation comes entirely from the match between your answers and the product specs.
That means our incentive is to advise you well — not to push whatever pays most. If the advice is useful, you come back. If it is not, you do not. The model only works if the trust is real.
What Habilytics is not
Not a test lab
We do not measure products ourselves. We work from the specs manufacturers and retailers publish.
Not a review site
We do not hand out subjective verdicts. The score depends on your specific needs, not on one writer's opinion.
Not an ad platform
No sponsored placements, no pay-to-be-included. No manufacturer funds its own visibility on Habilytics.
Not a price comparison site
Price matters and it is one of the criteria, but it is not the only one. The right choice depends on more than the cheapest number.
