Compact Dryers

A real dryer where a dryer cannot go

110V compact dryers plug into any wall outlet — no 240V line, no gas, no landlord. We score every model on true load capacity, footprint and controls, then size one to your household.

Millions of US apartments, condos and RVs have no dryer hookup — and laundromat trips or drying racks fill the gap badly. The 110V compact dryer category solves it: real tumble drying from a standard outlet. The trade-offs are real (smaller loads, longer cycles) and the spec sheets are slippery about them. We track the models worth buying on Amazon and score them honestly.

Cubic feet is marketing; pounds per load is truth

A "3.5 cu ft" compact drum takes about 13 lb of wet laundry — roughly two-thirds of a full-size machine. The 1.5 cu ft minis take 5.5 lb: one person's load. We size by pounds, and the wizard matches drum size to your household instead of letting the biggest number win.

110V drying is slower — buy accordingly

A wall outlet delivers about 1,500 W; a 240V dryer more than triple that. Cycles run 90-160 minutes instead of 45. That is physics, not a defect — and it is why sensor auto-dry (stop when dry) matters more here than on a full-size machine.

Venting: a hose out the window beats a wet wall

These are vented machines: they exhaust warm, moist air through a hose. Point it out a window, through a vent kit, or into a lint-trap water box. Skipping this step turns a small room into a rainforest — plan the hose path before you buy.
