Same 12,000 BTU headline, different honesty about it

The same listing headlines 550 sq ft of coverage, which is optimistic enough that the honest number here is 400. The practical gap is about 500 SACC BTU and 50 sq ft of real coverage, and the cooling sub-scores follow: 6 out of 10 for the Shinco, 5 for the SereneLife. Neither is strong. A 12,000 BTU marketing label at this price buys mid-size-room capacity, not large-room capacity. But when two units cost within $20 of each other and only one states what it actually delivers, the one that states it is the safer purchase - the risk on the other is not that it is worse, it is that nobody has told you how much worse.

Noise and efficiency: this is where both of them lose points

When neither of these is the right buy
