The only real difference is 2,000 BTU SACC

Strip the marketing and these two diverge on exactly one axis. The 14,000 delivers 12,000 BTU SACC and is rated for 550 sq ft. The 12,000 delivers 10,000 BTU SACC and is rated for 450 sq ft. Both boxes lead with the older ASHRAE figure - 14,000 and 12,000 respectively - which is why every portable AC sounds bigger than it cools. Size your room against the SACC number and ignore the rest.
