Cordless Vacuums · Head-to-head
LG CordZero A925 vs A937 Auto-Empty: Is the Dock Worth $200?
Both are LG's CordZero flagship stick vacuums, and on paper they're nearly the same machine: same sealed HEPA filtration, the same anti-tangle brush, the same pet tool, the same 120-minute rated runtime, and the same tested suction and handling scores. Shoppers reach this pair after they've already settled on LG's top tier, stuck on one question: pay $400 for the A925, or $600 for the A937 and its auto-empty dock?
The short answer
Pick the LG CordZero A925 if the budget is the constraint — it does the same job for $200 less.
Pick the LG CordZero A937 Auto-Empty if you find it cheaper on the day: the engine scores them level on every dimension.

Suction and runtime: identical, and both need a caveat
LG publishes no suction figure, no Air Watts, no kPa, for either model, so you can't line them up against a Dyson's AW rating or a rival's kPa number (and those two units measure different things anyway, so they never compare cleanly). In our testing both land at the same 7/10. Runtime is the same story: the 120-minute rating is eco mode with a non-powered tool. Switch to Max with the motorized brush on carpet and real runtime drops to a fraction, but it drops equally for both, since they share the battery.
The dock is the only thing you're actually choosing between
Strip away the identical specs and one difference remains: the A925 charges and stores the vacuum; the A937's dock also empties the wand bin for you when you seat it. That's genuinely useful if you dread the chore or react to the dust cloud a manual empty kicks up. Be realistic about the trade-offs, though: auto-empty docks are loud for a few seconds each cycle, take up more floor space, and still need periodic emptying themselves. The vacuum in your hand cleans exactly the same either way.
What the extra $200 actually buys
The overall scores tie at 7.7/10 because the engine sees two versions of one vacuum: same filtration, same tools, same 6-pound handling (the 0.1-pound spread is noise). So the $200 premium isn't buying more cleaning power, longer runtime, or a lighter wand. It buys one convenience: never touching the bin. Whether that's worth a third again on the price is entirely about how much the emptying chore bothers you, a real question for some households and a non-issue for others.
Choose the LG CordZero A925 if…
- Costs $200 less: $400 against $600
Choose the LG CordZero A937 Auto-Empty if…
- Nothing in the scored data favors it — the LG CordZero A925 matches or beats it on every dimension and does not cost more
Verdict
Buy the A925 and pocket the $200 if emptying a bin a few times a week doesn't bother you; you're getting the exact same vacuum. Step up to the A937 Auto-Empty if you have allergies or asthma (hands-off emptying keeps the dust contained), deal with heavy pet-hair volume, or simply know you'll put off the chore. Neither is "better," they're the same machine priced for two different tolerances for a small weekly task.
Still not sure?
Answer a few questions about your space and how you will use it, and the engine narrows the whole catalog down to the cordless vacuum that fits.

Scores come from published manufacturer specs, normalized 1 to 10 across the whole catalog: suction (suctionAw, AW), runtime (runtimeMin, min), handling (weightLb, lb). The overall figure is the weighted mean of those dimensions, and the same weights apply to every model on the page.
